Based in the city of Murshidabad, West Bengal, the institute is affiliated to the University of Kalyani and is approved by the NTCE.The name Murshidabad of the city in which the college is situated, comes from the place known as Muksudabad which was the capital of Bengal during Murshid Quli Khans' rule. Before the advent of British, the city of Murshidabad was the capital of Bengal. It has a great significance in the Indian History as in 1757 the British defeated Siraj-ud-Daulain the Battle of Plassey, after which the entire nation was brought under the British Colonial Rule. Even after the conquest of Bengal by the British, Murshidabad remained for some time the seat of administration.The town still bears memories of Nawabs with mosques, tombs, and gardens, and retains such industries as carving in ivory, gold and silver embroidery and silk weaving. Of historic interest are Nizamat Kila (the Fortress of the Nawabs) also known as the Hazaarduari Palace (Palace of a Thousand Doors), the Moti Jhil (Pearl Lake), the Muradbagh Palace and the Khushbagh Cemetery. Murshidabad today is a centre for agriculture, handicrafts and sericulture.

Candidates with at least 50% marks in the higher secondary (+2) or its equivalent examination are eligible for admission.
Bachelor Of Education
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a postgraduate course offered for those interested in pursuing a career in teaching. The B.Ed. degree is mandatory for teaching at the secondary (classes 9 and 10) and higher secondary (10+2 or classes 11 and 12). The minimum qualification required for entry into B.Ed. course is Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). While students from the Arts stream are trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography, and languages, the students from the Science stream are trained to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The duration of the course is two years. After B.Ed., students can pursue Master of Education (M.Ed.) in any Indian university or teacher-training institutes offering the course. The National Council for Teacher Education is the statutory body which regulating teacher training courses in the country of India.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
It is crucial for all the candidates that they ensure their eligibility criteria before they apply for the admission and appear in the entrance examination, 2017. Here, candidates have been given all the details about the eligibility criteria for the B.Ed. admission, 2017
Candidates, who pursue bachelors degree (Honours) or Masters Degree as one of the subjects as mentioned above in the table.
Candidates, who have been deputed after 10+2+3, can also apply for the course and the Application forms will be available in the university.
Candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in the graduation to be eligible to apply for admission and appear in the entrance examination.
There will be relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates of the SC and ST category and they need to have 45% arks in the Bachelors Degree
AGE LIMITATION
Applicants age must be equal to or less than 35 years to be eligible for the admission in the WBUTTEPA University for B.Ed. admission.
Candidates of the SC and ST category shall also be provided the relaxation of 5 years in their upper age and it will be of 3 years for the candidates who are physically disabled.
The candidates, who are in service, will be given opportunity to apply till the age of 45 years.
SUBJECTS OFFERED UNDER B.ED.
There are various subjects which are offered by the university in which candidates can pursue B.Ed.
Candidates can choose the subjects as per their choice and their educational background.

D.El.Ed. Elementary Education
D.El.Ed. course is technically an elementary teacher training course. Diploma in Elementary Education is similar to D.Ed. (Diploma in Education), JBT, D.T.Ed. (Diploma in Teachers Education) and ETT (Elementary Teacher Training) courses. D.El.Ed., JBT, D.Ed., D.T.Ed. and ETT courses have similar syllabus and course structure. These courses also offer similar job opportunities.
After completing 2 years long academic program, D.El.Ed. professionals become eligible to work at elementary level schools and similar educational institutes imparting elementary education. This teacher training course suits those who want to teach at lower (elementary) level schools.
D.ED / D.EL.ED COURSE
It aims to prepare teachers for the elementary stage of education, i.e. classes I to VIII. The aim of elementary education is to fulfill the basic learning needs of all children in an inclusive school environment bridging social and gender gaps with the active participation of the community.
The elementary teacher education programme carries different nomenclatures such as BTC, J.B.T, D.Ed. and (Diploma in Education). Henceforth, the nomenclature of the programme shall be the same across all states and it shall be referred to as the �Diploma in Elementary Education'(D.EI.Ed).
D.EI.ED ELIGIBILITY
(a) Candidates with at least 50% marks in the higher secondary (+2) or its equivalent examination are eligible for admission.
(b) The reservation and relaxation in marks for SClST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Goverrment whichever is applicable.

The course curriculum is great and the faculty members are very friendly they help a lot and guide us in a very good manner.
Placements from our college is average.almost 55% students get placements in campus interview.others do not qualify in the campus.some of our college teachers are the members of our college placement cell.they try their best for every student's placements.
My faculty right from the first semester took us for plenty of visits to various hotels as well as to a food truck factory.
Well experienced and talented faculties are there in our college.their way of teaching and devotion to study is commendable.they want to give every student propers training and teaching so that after passing out they can easily get their desired job.
No i am not residing in the hostel, but the hostel here is awesome , the rooms are provided on sharing basis and the rooms are air-conditioned ,food provided in hostel is also very good.
Nibedita Teachers Training College ,kolkata is a good institute for engineering.i got admitted in the college this year ,the college is having well equipped labs.
